The focus of this project is building an “Open Pedagogy Toolkit,” which will involve creating a website that will act as a guide for helping faculty get started on building a course with open pedagogy. Open pedagogy means the students are actively part of the teaching process. Students can help build websites, create podcasts, syllabi, and more! These are open pedagogy and create interactive and unique learning experiences within the classroom. Open pedagogy allows students to learn through creation and interaction rather than just being informed on a subject. Open teaching practices remove financial barriers to education and allow for more inclusion and the creation of academic materials.

The Fellow will help build the website by highlighting open pedagogy and learning all about open pedagogy practices. The website aims to act as a guide to faculty developing open pedagogy curricula. For faculty that have not used open pedagogy before, the process may seem overwhelming, but this site will act as a jumping-off point to ease them into the process. The Fellow will develop knowledge of open educational practices, website design, and possibly some basic coding skills.
