The Challenge: The Department of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies’ past production photos are currently stored in a haphazard collection of online platforms with varying degrees of (in)accessibility and (un)usability. These photos are often of-interest to: prospective students who want a sense of our program history; alumni and professional collaborators who want photos for their portfolios; and current students, staff, and faculty who want to promote our program or investigate what creative avenues have been explored in our recent past.
The Dream: In an ideal world, we would like to collect these photos into a single archive that is easily searchable and browsable by all of these stakeholders. This archive would be easy for our department students and staff to maintain and add to in the future.
How We Get There: A Vivero Fellow would help our department continue investigating options for content migration. We believe that Communications and Marketing might offer a new content archive that we could pursue this year, but it also looks like other campus digital resources may be expanding and could meet our needs as well. Helping us identify which solution holds the best long-term feasibility will be important. Once the solution is identified, the Fellow will help migrate our archival content into the new platform.
