Amy Kan ’27
Amy Kan (they/she) is a third-year art history major and Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellow at Grinnell College. Originally from Chicago, they are a museum professional and curator with experience in collections at the Grinnell College Museum of Art and exhibitions for The Wrong’s 6th Biennale, Grin Cupola, and Basement Gallery, a student-run space they co-founded. Their research takes a revisionist approach to modern and contemporary art, focusing on European and American painting and photography, with particular interests in East–West cultural exchange, postmodernism, abstraction, and gender and queer theory. They are currently working on Swiss-American artist Sonja Sekula. Amy’s Fall 2025 Vivero Project is Adaptations: Class Digital Assignment & Website led by Dr. Makeba Lavan. Amy’s Spring 2026 Vivero Project is Decolonization Stories led by Dr. Elizabeth Prevost.
Bruno Sica ’27
Hi, I’m Bruno Sica, a third-year Vivero fellow from Fort Collins, Colorado. I enjoy reading and going outside in my free time. My favorite book is Project Hail Mary. I enjoy cooking and traveling last semester I studied abroad in Vienna.
Cadence Chen ’26
Cadence Chen is a fourth-year Classics and English double major at Grinnell College. This is her third year as a Vivero fellow. She is interested in conceptions of the sea & other large expanses, (conceptions of & real) birds, and things that look like other things. In Fall 2025, Cadence worked on the Haitian Arts Digital Crossroads project led by Dr. Petrouchka Moïse. In Spring 2026, Cadence is working on 3D‑Printable Board Game for Transdisciplinary Research led by Prof. Sol Cátala-Valentín.
Chikako I. ’26
My name is C.I. (any/all), and I am an undergraduate researcher majoring in Gender Studies with a Digital Studies concentration. My study focuses on the inter-generational trauma regarding the memory of Comfort Women and healing practices in Asian American community. I enjoy listening to other people’s story, reading and writing poems, and drag Performance (both as an audience and a performer)! My motto is “stay positive and appreciative.” This year I am working on the Early Chinese Alumni of Grinnell project led by Dr. Jin Feng.
Chloe Kelly ’26
Chloe Kelly (she/her) is a fourth year computer science and studio art major. She has always been passionate about using technology as a tool for creating art and storytelling, and she is excited to use that technology for creating engaging forms of project research and sharing. In addition to Vivero, Chloe also works as a mentor in the CS department and in the Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies scene shop. She enjoys drawing and playing video games in her free time. This year Chloe is working on the Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies Digital Archive led by Kate Baumgartner and Erik Sanning.
Gabriela Roznawska ’26
My name is Gabriela Roznawska (often go by Gabi) and I’m from Krakow, Poland. I’m in my fourth year in Grinnell and major in computer science and psychology. As a Vivero Fellow, I am working with Prof. Liz Queathem on the Campus Tree Map project that, as the name suggests, aims to create an easily available online map of trees on Grinnell College grounds.
Other than pursuing interests in digital humanities I also work as a peer mentor in computer science and a global envoy for Institute of Global Engagement. In my free time I enjoy longboarding (and recently also skateboarding!), cooking and travelling around!

My name is Karolina and I’m a fourth year here in Grinnell College. It’s my second year being a Vivero Fellow and I’m super excited to start this semester journey. I’m majoring in Spanish and concentrating in Digital Studies and I’m super excited to get to know more about digital humanities world. A little bit more about me is that my favorite color is green and I think elephants are super cool. So be on the look out for an elephant Vivero flyer, and if you see it than you know who suggested it. This year I am working on the Mapping Racial Trauma project led by Dr. Stephanie Jones.

Welcome! My name is Kiera and I am a senior attending Grinnell College (Class of ’26). I am graduating with a BA in Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies, and an Environmental Studies concentration. This will be my second year working on campus as a Vivero Fellow, where in I assist in constructing Digital Humanities Projects headed by both Faculty/Staff and Students. This year I am working with the Virtual Titular Head project with Adam Kelley-Chown, Donor and Alumni Relations Assistant Director for Virtual and Regional Engagement. I’m excited to continue my work as a Fellow, exploring ways in which the arts can be showcased, shared, and archived digitally. I am staunchly Anti-AI! Ask me about it.

I’m a fourth-year student at Grinnell College studying History and American Studies in Grinnell, Iowa. I’m passionate about archival science, LGBTQIA+ history, rural studies, public history, digital humanities, the history of education, and how sometimes, they all happen to overlap beautifully. This year I am working on the Laetitia Moon Conard Project led by Dr. Susan Ferguson (Fall 2025) and Centering Equity in Hiring: A Staff Equity Resource and Storytelling Initiative led by Heather Jones-Brown, Maria Tonui, and DaNaye VanDeKrol (Spring 2026).

Hello! My name is Valery Mayorga and I am a Senior student at Grinnell College. I am a Vivero Digital Humanities Fellow and this is my second year in the Fellowship program. I am really excited to delve into and expand my knowledge in the digital humanities! I am studying Political Science and in my free time, I enjoy dancing, watching birds, and spending time with my family.

Hi there! My name is Zachary Rusli (He/Him), and I am a current 2nd year student intending to major in Physics and TDPS (Theatre, Dance, & Performance Studies). I am interested in the intersection of science and the humanities, and how we approach using technology in our lives today. In addition to being a Vivero fellow, I am also part of the Grinnell Singers and I am also a lifeguard at the Russell K. Osgood Natatorium. This year, I am working with Minna Mahlab, the director of Grinnell’s Science Learning Center, to annotate and digitize a collection of peer-reviewed references informing the best practices for STEM education.

Isaiah Schlimm ’27
My name is Isaiah Schlimm. I am a Third Year English and Philosophy major at Grinnell College set to graduate in 2027. My interests lie in poetry, digital humanities, and philosophy of religion. In the past I have interned with organizations like The Christian Century and The Tribal Law and Policy Institute, doing editorial and communications work respectively. As a Vivero Fellow I have a passion for making complex topics and ideas accessible through digital mediums. Last year I had the pleasure of partnering with Grinnell College’s Center for Careers, Life, and Services to help design a website for Map the System, an international student research project. This semester I will be partnering with Grinnell College Professor Jen Shook on Instead of Redface, a digital resource documenting material for instructors teaching and studying Indigenous performance in the United States. When I’m not typing away and working on a website or paper, I can be found hiking, reading, or wrangling my six siblings around town.

I’m Jesica Rodriguez Beyer (she/her), a fourth-year Psychology and Art History major at Grinnell College. As a Vivero Fellow, I am currently working on an Art History Digital Timeline for ARH-103 with Dr. Eiren Shea.

Jude Zamora Morgan ’27
My name is Jude Zamora Morgan. I am currently a third year History major at Grinnell College from Morristown, New Jersey. My academic interests lay in comparative history as well as the post-Soviet world. My most recent projects have been on the legacy and memory of the Battle of Manila (1945), as well as the on-going impacts of ethnic conflicts within the South Caucasus. This year I am working on the EU Policy Text Analysis project led by Dr. Jonathan Larson.
Ngoc Ta ’27
Ngoc Ta is a third-year Computer Science/Math major from Oakland, California. Given her passion for learning new concepts and helping people with technology, she enjoys her work as a Vivero fellow. She loves reading, playing video games, and ensuring that every cat she meets knows they are the most perfect creature in existence.
Working on 3D printing support and website development for the Burling Digital Studio under the supervision of Max Schafer, she looks forward to creating a platform that makes 3D printing more accessible to students while also growing her skills along the way.
